18th Annual Sports meet was held at AIMAN College of Arts and Science for women, Trichy on 28th September 2018.The chief guest of the day was Professor Dr.G.Anitha ,MD, Dean ,KAPV Government Medical college, Trichy. Our Principal Dr.Suhashini Ernest Welcomed the gathering and our Correspondent Dr.M.M.Shahul Hameed offered his felicitations.The College March past led by S.Reshma of III maths was a magnificent display of discipline and co-ordination and it was followed by oath taking ceremony led by M.Jahana of III B.A.Chief guest in her address congratulated the students for their active participation in the sports events and stressed the importance of education for women .A very important message was conveyed to the audience to be part of the solution to stop pollution to sustain a clean and green environment for future generations. Prizes were distributed to the students who won in the various sports events conducted with utmost zeal.A vote of thanks was proposed by C.Priya Head Department of Mathematics. The program came to an end with the National Anthem.
Book Club was initiated at Aiman College of Arts and Science by the Department of English on 10.09.18. The Secretary of English Department, Reefa Banu of III B.A welcomed the gathering.Dr. M.M. Shahul Hameed, the correspondent of our institution, an avid reader of books,spoke eloquently on Sudha Murty’s Here, There and Everywhere. As the title suggests it is a book containing her experiences in India and abroad. The book gives an overview of the character of Sudha Murty’s philanthropic spirit and yeoman service to the society. Hameedha of I.B.A gave a review on the book Jane Eyre written by Charlotte Bronte. It is a novel, a voice of woman in life and literature. The meeting came to a close with the vote of thanks by Sameera of III.B.A.
The successful completion of the Nutritional Awareness program 2018 as a part of the Nutritional Week celebration for the academic year 2018-2019 was held on 08/09/2018. The chief dignitaries of the day were Mrs.PARIMALA .R, CDPO, Thiruverumbur block and Mrs.PRABAVATHI. J, CDPO, Manikandam block, Trichy. The other dignitaries present were Dr. M.M SHAHUL HAMEED, correspondent and Dr.SUHASHINI ERNEST, Principal of AIMAN College of Arts and Science for Women.The ceremony commenced with the Qirath, seeking blessing from Almighty. Then the welcome address was given by the Association Secretary, Ms.S.Vishnu Piriya of III N&D.The “Nutritional awareness Talk on Anaemia” was presented by the chief guests for various age groups, highlighting the needs of adolescents. They also enlightened the students about the various schemes provided by the Government for women and children.Anganwadi members of Manikandam Block exhibited various nutrient rich foods aimed to improve the Nutritional Status of Adolescent girls.They also provided health drink and kozhukattai made from Sprouted Pulses to all.To conclude the program.L. Mubeena Thasneem, II N&D, proposed a vote of thanks.
The Entrepreneurial Development Cell of AIMAN College of Arts & Science for Women, Organized an one-day Entrepreneurship Training Programme on 8th September 2018 at 10 am. Mrs.Hema Krishnamurthy, Skill Trainer, National Skill Training Institute(NSTI), Trichy and Mrs. Jaculine Rani, Skill Trainer, Women Entrepreneurs Association of Tamilnadu(WEAT), Trichy, gave hands on training to our students in making homemade chocolates and sanitary napkins. Around 65 students benefited from this program. This program was conducted to strengthen the Entreprenurial Skills in the students and the motivational talk given by the trainers helped them to learn about the avenues open in the market.
A Guest Lecture was organized at AIMAN college of Arts And Science for Women, Trichy, by the Department of English. Dr. Catherin Edward, Associate Professor, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Trichy was the resource person and spoke on “Literary Criticism and Theory A- Purview”. Mrs. Anees Fathima, Head, Department of English, welcomed the gathering. Resource person Dr. Catherin Edward, addressed the gathering. Her lecture signifies the importance and scope of literary criticism and also highlighted the origin of literary theory and its impact in literary works.Ms. A.Sameera of III BA proposed the vote of Thanks.
